OHAI
Kay isn't even looking out the window. She's more intent on reading - not paperwork, but a legal thriller stored on her tablet, a secret smile on her face as if she was the only one who knew what happened next.]
(wave)
Rain? People got caught in ridiculous murder cases and asked her to be their defence. Which, really, the ridiculous wasn't so bad (she's something of an expert at it) but the rain, sigh. Any evidence she might find while scoping out the supposed ~real murder location~ would be a mess, if it wasn't washed away.
Disgruntled, Trucy pulls her umbrella into the crook of her arm and leans against the wall of the Chinese restaurant, trying to organise the Court Record. Everything was sopping in evidence bags and she pouts. How useless.
But wait, perhaps someone was in the restaurant when this happened. Oh thank goodness, a witness would do in a pinch, she was a genius and should have thought of that sooner. After all, the murder supposedly took place around the back, the owners would probably know something.
And she'd be dry. Win-win.
She enters, shakes out her umbrella and places it in the stand, hands in her coat pockets as she smiles wetly at the small crowd.
Wait a second... ] Kay? [ And the crime was forgotten for a moment. She could do interviews later. The prosecutor at the table is one she feels like she hasn't seen in ages. ]
/flail
Trucy!
ignoring the fact that kay should be several years older than her y/y?
/IGNORING BECAUSE THIS IS AU, WE DO WHAT WE WANT
The storm's going nuts and I don't have an umbrella on me, but otherwise I'm okay. [Indeed, getting stranded hasn't affected her cheery demeanor much.] How 'bout you?
WUTEVA WUTEVA I DO WHAT I WANT /cartman
Okay, well, probably not. But still! ]
IT'S WHAT AUS ARE FOR
The prosecutor shakes her head.]
Not all the time. And you don't have to deal with the worst of the police force. [Ema and other detectives and some of the police officers are okay, but the rest? MAJOR HEADACHE.]
YEAP
You've got me there. I'm surprised that they let Mr. Meekins become a detective. [ She dealt with him. Once.
She never wants to do that again, and she likes weirdos. ] ... Is he still a detective?
no subject
[Kay looks at Trucy sheepishly and it's obvious that she's really hoping she made the right choice, letting Meekins stay on for a little longer. It shows in how she glances upward for a split second as if the answer is written on the ceiling.]
no subject
Well, she can understand, she supposes. It's not like it's an easy thing to fire someone - trying to fire the one magic assistant Trucy ever had was awkward as anything. He wouldn't stop pretending he was fine, that he didn't want to be there in first place.
Apollo really just needed to admit it. ]
I'm sure it'll be fine. I bet Detective Gumshoe will help him out.
[ Uh. ]
no subject
But at the mention of Gumshoe, Kay relaxes a bit. Some things never change - she still believes very much in Gumshoe and as much as possible tries to be merciful to his paycheck. Unfortunately, sometimes he DID need a watchful eye.]
Hmm, yeah, I think he will. [Right?] Maybe it's time I got an assistant. Like one of those law student interns.

Oooh. With interviews and everything? Sounds so successful. [ Assistants are fun. As long as they're not as grouchy as Polly. ]
no subject
[She giggles.]
