I figure the answer to this one is up to the individual Phoenix; I see a few possibilities.

Well...I thought you'd need it in case some people weren't going to give up their secrets so easily. And I knew I could trust you to keep Iris from getting declared guilty.

[Phoenix snorts; it's even funnier the second time, and raises a hand to his mouth. It's no good, because he ends up snickering instead, and has a good snicker for a few moments until...]

[He calms down at last, takes a deep breath, and smirks, his voice completely deadpan.]

...Indeed, if you didn't have the utmost faith in me, such a questionable scheme as placing a prosecutor behind the defense bench wouldn't have occurred to you. Clearly, you weren't thinking of me as a prosecutor at all at that time.
