1. Boarded: Your ship has been boarded, and as captain you've been captured! Better hope the other captain gives quarter. Alternatively, it's a nice warm day for a swim. That plank was made for walking.

2. Victory: You've captured another ship! You knew those extra cannons would come in handy. And let's hope they've got lots of swag! Where's the captain? Are you the decent sort, or are you going to rub their face in it for a bit?

3. Swab the decks: You're a cabin boy! It's a good thing you don't mind doing all the dirty work, right? Anyway, the captain's calling; better see what they want.

4. Marooned: For a bit there you'd thought you were in Davy's Jones' grip, but somehow you've washed ashore with the driftwood. As you stare dazedly up from the surf, you have questions. Where are you? And who's that already on the shore?

5. Buried Treasure: Sink me! You've really found the mother lode. . . but you're not the only one. Who gets to take the treasure back to their ship? Better make sure it's you.

6. Rum: Rum, everywhere.

7. Swordfight: It's that person you can't stand! And they've taken your most valuable possession, that one of a kind thing you just can't live without! Better get that trinket back before it and your nemesis are gone over the side forever. Let's hear some swashes buckling.

8. Mutiny: The tack is full of maggots and this drinking water may as well have come from the gutter. There's one person to blame for this, and you're here to make especially sure that they pay for it. The captain does always seem to take the best treasure before everybody else.

9. Kidnapping: Don't they look rather peaceful, innocent even, sleeping so soundly there with their fancy nightclothes and pillows. Brings a tear to your eye, it does. Better take them aboard and send for a ransom.

10. Take a Gamble: Gotta spend your loot somehow, but it must have been the rum that had you bettin' everything at once! You've lost to your hornswagglin' shipmate; what did you lose, and what will they make you do now?

11. Under the Sea: You are now a Mermaid/Merman! That sailor over there sure looks appealing; let's see if you can lure them in with your charms. Don't forget that they can't breathe under water! You do seem to always forget, don't you. . .

12. The Doldrums: Can you say cabin fever? The sails haven't moved in weeks. You're about seeing if your mates can relieve this awful boredom.

13. Wild card. What do. Your choice. It doesn't even have to be here - wait why am I even explaining this to you YOU KNOW HOW THIS WORKS.

[Hughes had heard the turmoil, all right, but before he could leave (he had to arm himself first) and see what was happening, his cabin door opens to reveal the young navigator flanked by several crewmen.

That was a pistol, all right. The captain holds up his hands. He can't even pull his knives out of his sleeves in this position.]

...What's going on?

[Technically, he already knew what was going on - this was mutiny, plain and simple. What he really wanted to know was why it was going on.]

[Navigator's lips curled up in a smile-- good thing that the captain was a sensible man and didn't try to fight them. It might have ended with unnecessary wounds or casualties. And above all, Hughes had to remain alive. He takes one more step forward.]

The ship is no longer yours, Captain. Or maybe should I say 'ex-Captain'? If it will be 'late Captain' is up to you to decide.

[There was a deal to be made.]

I'm open to negotiations.

[After these words the crewmen began whispering-- apparently they didn't like that option. But Lelouch managed to calm them down and silence them with a movement of his free hand.]

...Before that, I'd like to ask a few questions.

[His hands are still up, and his voice is...amazingly level. Calm. And his expression betrays nothing.]

Starting with, "Why are you doing this?"

[So calm-- the navigator always admired that trait in Captain Hughes. No matter what he remained cool and collected. Well, unless certain little girl was concerned...]

I'd gladly answer all of them. [He turns to the crewmen.] Leave us alone. [Of course, they will still remain in the corridor not too far away. Lelouch smiles at Hughes.]

Please have a seat, Captain.

[Oh, if that little girl or his lovely wife is involved, Captain Hughes will spare no mercy for the mutineers. At least right now he's in a bargaining mood.

So he pulls up the seat from his desk, and sits down quietly. Then he gestures toward the other chair for Lelouch.]

[He takes a seat and makes himself comfortable. The only thing that makes this situation different from a friendly chat is the pistol placed on the table under Lelouch's hand.]

I won't be beating around the bush. I need your ship and your crew. And something else, namely your maps. If you're willing to hand them over, you're free to leave unharmed.

[That's the deal, simple as it is. The most important part are the maps-- although the navigator has access to them, it is generally limited-- the one keeping them locked close to himself is Maes.]

[He can see that pistol just fine, thank you very much.]

So you're not only taking command, you are throwing me out of my own ship. [One of his hands rests over the drawer that holds the maps.]

Where are you going?

Yes, I am. But I don't want to kill you, Captain. But if you leave me no other choice, I won't hesitate.

[No, believe him, he doesn't really want that. Meanwhile, Lelouch observes warily how the other man reaches for the drawer.]

I've got my reasons. You wouldn't go there, you'd think it would be a journey of a madman with no chance of success. You have something to lose-- your family.

...Where is "there", exactly? There are a lot of places I wouldn't want to go.

Ever heard of Leviathan's Lair?

[Maybe Hughes did, maybe he didn't. But if he did, he probably heard about it in one of the legends which drunken sailors mutter over a pint of beer.

However, Lelouch believes that the captain owns a map that leads right there.]

[He sits up straight - well, straighter than usual.]

Of course I have. I also know it's more than just a legend.

[Such response Lelouch didn't expect and he isn't able to hide his surprise. His eyebrows twitch a little bit and so does his mouth. He reminds himself not to get too excited-- in the end, Hughes might be bluffing. Although captain's reaction was too quick...]

Really? How come?

[He closes his eyes for a moment.]

...I've been there once. Once was enough.

You're lying.

[No, he doesn't believe the captian. No one could have been-- or could he? Lelouch scowls terribly, visibly seething, his grip on the pistol tightening.]

And you're back, sound and safe, just like this? If this were true, you would have my greatest respect and admiration. But it's highly unlikely.
