could these walls come crumbling down? [CLOSED]
Who: Miles Edgeworth (
prosecutory) and Kay Faraday (
farakay)
Where: High Prosecutor's Office, Room 1202
When: Some time after Ace Attorney Investigations
Style: Starting with prose but Kia gets to choose and besides, this entire block of text could be converted into a giant actionspam bracket tag.
Summary: Promises. Rated G for good gracious all these cavities.
Today was a slow day. Miles Edgeworth was, amazingly, at the tail end of his work for the day and could theoretically sit back and relax until anyone called him up for anything else. Though he was a workaholic and there was little he loved more than his job and everything that came with it, he could feel a sense of relief wash over him briefly, like a wave gently moving into the seashore, once he was aware of how close he was to finishing everything he had planned out for the day. He sets his mouth in a determined and calm line as he continues typing away on his laptop, word after word bringing him closer to his goals, focused on getting everything done on time. The papers and folders on his desk were already neatly grouped into two piles, ready for whatever purpose they ought to serve.
At the back of his mind, however, he wonders why Kay Faraday had not bothered him all day today. He thought she would come see him today, potentially ruin his quiet and productive day, and continue to ramble on and on about her goals as the Great Thief Yatagarasu while pretending to steal the various knickknacks around his office. Honestly, he didn't mind if she had another appointment or had to run off - or if she even forgot or decided not to stop for a visit after all. It was difficult to describe how he felt about Kay's absence; sure, it gave him more room to think without being interrupted or distracted, but sometimes, she had things to say that deserved to be heard. Still, perhaps she had better things to do than ask if she could assist him on a case again and he would respect that.
Edgeworth pauses, squinting at the screen of his laptop before nodding to himself and moving onward, taking advantage of his ability to truly concentrate without any interruptions and without having to tell anyone to please stop tampering with the various items in his office.
